The School of Communications at XIM University, Bhubaneswar, hosted the 7th annual national media fest, Concordia 2024 was by BSc (Hons) Mass Communication (2023 – 2026) on 30.09.2024, Monday from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM Venue: Mini Auditorium, New Academic Block, XIM University, New Campus Conducted by:Students Activities Committee, School of Communications. The event was sponsored by Sree Metaliks, Monsters, Shraddha Promotors, JMG Lifestyles, Nestle and 11leaf. Over 400 students from schools and colleges across India participated in five events: Dance (Pirouette), Singing (Symphony), Fashion Drawing (Silhouette), Photography (Statuette), and E-sports (Conquer).
Concordia 2024 was a vibrant platform that fostered creativity and showcased diverse talents. The event featured a variety of competitions, including fashion drawing, dance, singing, e- sports, and photography.
Participants were encouraged to express themselves through their chosen art form, while also learning from and inspiring each other. The SILHOUETTE (Fashion drawing Competition), PIROUETTE (Dance Competition), SYMPHONY (Singing Competition), CONQUER (Online Esports Competition), and STATUETTE (Photography Competition) provided a competitive environment that pushed participants to excel. Beyond the competitions, Concordia 2024 served as a space for networking, idea exchange, and personal growth. The event created lasting memories for participants and attendees alike, fostering a sense of inspiration and connection. The Valedictory ceremony began at 4.00 pm the event commenced with a warm welcome by the school secretary and coordinator of the Students Activity Committee (SAC), School of Communications, Areeba Tasneem, and Ishika Agarwal, respectively. They expressed their gratitude to the gracious sponsors, Sree Metaliks, Nestle, Monster, JMG Lifestyle, Shradhha Promoters Pvt. Ltd., and 11 leaf for their invaluable support.
Then we had dance performances by both UG and PG students. Then we went ahead by calling all our Dean, Chief guest, Guest of Honor, and our special invites on the dais. The welcome address was given by Dr. V. Vijay Kumar Dean School of Communications followed by some insights to the audience by Fr. V. Arokiya Dass, SJ Chief Finance Officer, XIM University and then an address by our Guest of Honour Shri Shubhashish Khuntia, Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha.
Then we move forward with announcing the winners of the competition for conquer (esports competition) winners are team extra esports (first prize), team nerf (2nd winner) and team battleground pirates (3rd winner), silhouette (fashion drawing) winners are Jasaswi Sahoo (1st prize), Daksha Siyono Pati( 3rd winner) , statuette (photography) winners are Ayush dash(2nd prize), Tanmay guru(3rd prize), pirouette (dance) winners are do u crew (1st prize) , Durgapada Samanta (2nd prize) and Priyansu Kumar Mohanty(3rd prize) and last symphony (singing), subbranch Shubhra Sekhar Mishra(1st prize), Aditya Nayak (2nd prize) and the prize was distributed by our guests and then the event ended with a vote of thanks by prof. Nirmalaya baral, faculty coordinator sac. Concordia 2024, the seventh edition of the national student media festival, served as a dynamic platform for individuals to showcase their creativity.
